We rescheduled Mikan's physiatry appointment for next month. For now we are busy with the preparations necessary for Mikan to begin a kindergarten transition in the fall. He will still attend his ABA school in the afternoons during the transition. We hope he is ready when the time comes. I know we have a long road ahead of us making sure Mikan is supported and challenged appropriately. And we aren't entirely sure of the best educational setting to foster this, but we have to start somewhere. In a few weeks we will have an IEP meeting to discuss the results of all of his special education testing and what his team recommends for him next year.
Mikan's developmental pediatrician recommended that we have Mikan buy his lunch at school each day and then bring a can of Pediasure along. I hadn't thought of this since I figured he would refuse it every day, but it is an interesting way to give him regular exposure to different food, and it would help him fit in more with the kindergarten crowd.
We are all looking forward to the warmer weather, spending more time at the park or playing in the hose outside.
