A Post Two Years in the Making

A little bit farther down the road to "normalcy," whatever that word really means. It doesn't mean so much to us anymore, and I'm not convinced it's something we even strive for in all of its nuanced societal expectations. We only use the word as a marker for the rest of the world when we communicate Mikan's progress.

That being said, it seems like Mikan is finally making some gross motor progress. This video illustrates more than a controlled fall, something we have been awaiting a long time. It's been two years now that we have been thinking Mikan was "a couple months away" from walking. We've learned to no longer make these predictions, but this video shows some exciting new coordination we haven't yet witnessed. He'll get there. He's learning early that hard work reaps great rewards. Watch out Usain Bolt. Here comes Mikan Boy.
