Pictures to follow. We are finally home...with Mikan. Discharge went pretty smoothly today and Mikan appears to enjoy the transition. Everything is set up at our house and we have home nursing in place for 30 days. We are extremely tired, but happy to have him home. He is currently hooked up to the same machinery as he was at the hospital: Vent, suction machine, oxygen, biox monitor. We welcome healthy, clean visitors. Please call or email ahead of time. Based on the car to stroller transitions, we don't anticipate leaving the house too often. Thank you to everyone for your wonderful support over the last 5 months. 141 days at the NICU in case anyone else was keeping track.

That is wonderful news, I am so amazed and proud of how you hung in there and took each day in stride. Spending that much time in the NICU (as parents)can really take its toll emotionally and physically. He is so lucky to have you as parents. I wish you all the best.

John and Jenna- so glad to know everything finally came together for Mikan's release. You both have incredible stamina and I applaud your stoic handling of all the challenges that came your way. Best of luck in the coming weeks as you begin a new chapter in the Gensic Family Album (Life after NICU).

That is great news :) I wish you the best of luck but I know he is one lucky kid :) Someday we will have to tell him all the stories of the blog and all the visitors, etc. You two are amazing!
